35th Anniversary Rally - Salisbury Rugby Club
Salisbury, SP1 3SA 19th -26th July 2024 Join us to celebrate the clubs 35th year, in the wonderful medieval Cathedral city of Salisbury. We will be staying at Salisbury Rugby ground which is just a short 15 minute bus ride away from the city centre or you can walk into the city via the river. Welcoming travellers since 1227, Salisbury sitting at the confluence of 3 rivers, the Avon, Nadder and Bourne is dominated by the serenity and splendour of the Cathedral, with Britain’s largest Cathedral Close and Cloisters and a 123m spire. Housed in the Cathedral is the worlds oldest clock and one of the best preserved versions of the Magna Carta .The city retains much of its medieval centre, with a delightful market square and traditional shopping streets. With a decent selection of restaurants and some very traditional and characterful pubs, including the New Inn, The Ox Row Inn, The Bishops Mill and the Wig & Quill. Why not take a bus to Stonehenge, just 12km north of the city and served by a regular bus service. Or further afield there is Longleat, Paultons Park, Boscombe Down Aviation Museum and Beaulieu and its National Motor Museum or why not take a trip into Southampton. We hope to have a very full social program, given its our anniversary event, including a Hog Roast so make sure you book early.
