AGM Rally, Stratford upon Avon Sept 2015
Our trip to Riverside Park was a first for us, although we had been to visit Stratford-upon-Avon on previous occasions. We were very impressed by the site, what a lovely location.
The River Taxi into town from the onsite jetty was a very relaxing mode of transport. After exploring the town, and with some friendly persuasion, we went to visit the nearby Retail Park in search of a fan heater as our heating system had decided it was'nt going to contribute to our holiday from day one.
Thankfully the kettle worked so we had hot water and the loan of Gerry's heater. Thank you Gerry. Well, heater purchased and the obligatory pair of shoes, Clive, Gerry and I headed back to town for something to eat at one of the local hostelries. Very nice too!
Friday evening was spent playing a rather "noisy "game of skittles in the Bowls Club, but much fun was had by all!

The AGM took place on Saturday morning. New members were elected and some re-elected to fill the necessary positions. I feel we should ALL be extremely grateful to them.
After the AGM it was payback time for my shopping trip! so Clive and Gerry headed off in our little Skoda to visit the Coventry Aviation Museum, while I amused myself exploring the surrounding area and chatting! |
We rounded off Saturday with an excellent meal in the Crown Pub near the site, which had been organised by Graham and Meriel Squires. After the meal some of us went back to the Bowls Club and were entertained by a very talented girl singer.

The coffee morning on Sunday gave us a last chance for a get together, to listen to forthcoming events, see if we had won a raffle prize and also say our goodbye's to those leaving that
day. Some of us who stayed on a little longer, found ourselves having an excellent Sunday Carvery in the very new Riverside Clubhouse. On reflection it seems a lot of our time was spent eating! (I should have joined in that game of skittles!). We really enjoyed our few days and meeting up with our fellow members. Hopefully our newsletter will encourage some of our "newer" members to join us and make some new friends. Come on, give it a try! Happy , safe motoring homing to you ALL! Vera, Clive and Gerry. |
