Bakewell, DE45 1AH 8th -15th August 2024 Bakewell Showground is a 30 acre site situated in the picturesque Wye Valley just outside Bakewell Town Centre. The site has very good road links (being just off of the A6) and is very close to Bakewell town centre just a 5 minute walk away. Bakewell is an attractive old market town set in an enviable location on the banks of the Wye, with the river meandering gently through the centre and surrounded by stunning countryside views. Famous for its puddings, annual events and the historic Monday market. Visitors flock to shop in the independent shops, explore the town’s nooks and crannies, admire the fine stone Derbyshire buildings, relax by the clear, sparkling waters of the River Wye or enjoy a light snack, lunch or dinner at a host of café’s, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. You could even take a brewery tour and sample world-beating craft beers at Thornbridge Brewery. If your feeling active, head for the Monsal trail for some traffic free walking, amid some of the prettiest scenery in the Peak District. Buses from Bakewell run throughout the region with routes to Chatsworth, Buxton, Castleton, Monsal Head, Tideswell, Eyam, Haddon Hall & Matlock Bath.
