Briarfields Rally Report December 2015
The site is very well situated for bus stops near the entrance – Gloucester one direction and the other to Cheltenham. I had never been to Cheltenham and did enjoy the town with the Christmas atmosphere. The dry weather helped.
The venue for the evening was a short walk. The meal was well presented, hot and very enjoyable and Bill (I think) had gone to a lot of trouble to print place names with our individual photos. Thank you Bill. Although we sat on two round tables it did not lend itself to conversation. Most members moved to a nearby bar later in the evening where it was much easier to chat and refill our glasses.
As the newly elected secretary I attended a committee meeting having to take the minutes!! I had purchased a room recorder to back up my memory and notes but it refused to assist me by telling me ‘the batteries were too low’. Not what I expected. I think I managed it satisfactorily but will make sure next time it is working.
The weather was kind to us for our coffee get together and raffle although a little chilly. We had a very quick and easy journey home and were soon back into routine.
