Canterbury CCC - July 2019
What a lovely, enjoyable rally on a beautiful Camping and Caravan site near Canterbury. There was a bus stop outside the gate and lots of inclusive activities organised by Andy and Heather for their first SMOC rally as Marshals. The Meet and Greet was a party with cake, biscuits and coffee that went on till late in the evening. We were blessed with sunny weather and pleasant company. A day trip into Canterbury to see the sites was a must for everyone, some even managing two or three trips. The local buses went throughout Kent and we managed a lovely sunny outing to Hearne Bay and Whitstable. We enjoyed it so much, we did it twice.
Sunday’s outing was a real treat, with the Royal Marines Band rededication concert on the seafront at Deal; wonderful music and sun.Back at the campsite, evenings were very sociable for those who had the energy after a long day out.
We had an Italian Evening with wine and pasta cooked by Heather - Bellissimo!! We also had a murder on the site, fortunately all the victims and props were provided by the ralliers.
Saturday was an organised evening meal at Wetherspoons in Canterbury. Again, our Rally Marshals did all the legwork for us and we just sat back and enjoyed it all.
