ROSE FARM RALLY, Belton, Gt.Yarmouth - 5th to 12th June
Hello to all our members who were at Rose Farm & the ones that couldn't make it!!We arrived on site early Wednesday pm. Weather was lovely. 12 Motor homes arrived.A quiet site but lovely, well done to Elaine & John, our Marshals. On Wednesday afternoon we had our meet and greet with everyone. It was really nice to see old and new members. We’ve not been able to go to many of the meets as with one thing & another. Hopefully we will get to a few more over this year. We went into Gorleston, had our dinner there - Wetherspoons (Fish & chips) really nice!! We are really lucky that we have bus stops right outside the campsite to Gorleston, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth & Norwich.
There is a ruin of a castle very close to the site & a church. That was really interesting. We also went into the village hall for a cuppa and a piece of cake........yummy yummy!! On our first night we had a get together, Elaine had made quite a lot of home made wine, grape, banana, it went down very nicely. Friday we went into Lowestoft for the day. Had a nice walk around & had lunch at Wetherspoons. Rick had ham, eggs & chips (don't mention the eggs). We spent time with Ann & Colin, (a really nice couple) also Elaine & John. We went to Great Yarmouth on Saturday, there were 8 of us, we walked along the prom like kids. Rick had his picture taken as a strong man,Laughing & joking with one another!!
Also decided to run through the water that was shooting out. We all had a good laugh!! We had lunch at Mcdonalds!! Had a walk round the town it was issing it down!!But we had a good laugh.
When we got back John & Elaine's gazebo had got damaged with the wind. Elaine, John, Andy & Rick got the frame down, Heather & Andy took the sides off!! Saturday night, no gazebo so we all went to the pub!! The Kings Head, a short walk from our site. Sunday we did a coffee morning and the famous raffle. That went down really well. At 1 o'clock we all went to the pub as John had asked if they could accommodate 22 of us!! Must say the Sunday lunch was lovely also nice & hot!! Some of us had pudding. Monday we went by bus to Norwich for the day. It rained all day!! We went into Norwich Minster. It’s a beautiful church. The clock has just had an overhaul and it was going round and round on its own - time was flying by.
Found our favourite place to eat - Wetherspoons. Had a nice meal in there & got the bus back at 5 ish (1hr 30 mins) on the bus.
Stayed in on Monday night. Weather was terrible rain, rain & more rain, thunder & lighting. So Rick & myself decided to come home a day early.
A big thank you to John & Elaine for arranging our different days and telling all of us about the area.
