Spital Farm Rally Report
Dear all,
Maureen & I were extremely appreciative of the warm welcome we received on meeting you all at the above rally. There certainly wasn't any disapointment in any way; the offer of help if neccesary was very forthcoming – equally the options of things to do, if we wanted to, with no pressure was also gratefully received .
The site was conveniently situated next to the Spital Inn pub and restaurant, which we visited the Wednesday we arrived. The following day, Maureen has always wanted to visit Scarborough, so the bus stop next to the site was great! We made sure we carried the camera with us and took plenty shots of the town and sea front etc.
The evening was pleasantly spent with the 'gang' ,our barbies and friendly chat, ( also a little beer and wine - for social reasons of course!)

Friday saw us bus hopping again, this time to Whitby (via Scarborough). It was a very pleasant day, nice sunny weather, interesting journey - conveniently chauffered for a change by means of the double decker mode of transport. We enjoyed Whitby's scenic harbour, quaint narrow streets, plus musicians (buskers) entertaining everyone – great atmosphere
On returning back to the site, the weather was sunny, but unfortunately the strength of wind had decided to recind any thoughts of congregating all together outside our motor homes. But never mind, it was a pleasant change for once to relax, eat, drink & read -also with a nice snooze – in our motor homes.
Saturday was really good . A few of us decided we wanted to visit Filey, and because there wasn't any direct transort from our site, we clubbed together and hired a taxi.On returning back to 'camp' it was unanimousley agreed to go to the nearby local fish & chip restaurant. This again was a sheer delight, everyone joining in, having a laugh and getting stuck into some great food. All in all a very nice evening.
The next day was mine and Maureen's last day before returning home. There was a knock on the door by Phyllis, kindly inviting us to join everyone at the coffee morning, which included the usual raffle and a few words of thanks by our illustrious leader Ray Rolfe & Beryl, who also welcomed Maureen and myself as first time ralliers – thank you again Ray & Beryl!
Monday came round fairly soon and it was time to bid everyone a fond farewell!
Many thanks to Ray & Beryl for organising a very pleasant weekend, and to you all; who we enjoyed meeting very much ( you know who you are) – thank guys & gals.
Maureen and I look forward to seeing you all again! - (when we can).
