Woodlands Grove, Totnes
Lovely site, but not as lovely as last week, too many hills! Lots more to keep us busy, the neighbouring Theme Park was included in the
site fee. The birds of prey were our favourite. Buses stopped outside the park and gave easy access to Totnes and Dartmouth. Ralliers used these two towns to venture further afield using various modes of transport. Totnes is described in the brochures as a captivating town. It retains an old fashioned charm and has lots of small, interesting shops. From Totnes lots of ralliers took a trip on the South Devon Railway to Buckfastleigh to see the Dartmoor Otters and Buckfast Butterflies.

We had a lovely trip on Thursday on the paddle steamer from Dartmouth to Totnes and back with our new friends. That evening it was off to Brian and Mo's van. Brian celebrated a big birthday just before the rally and we were all invited, food and drink flowed, we had a great time, a big thanks to Brian and Mo.
On Saturday, six of us joined together and went on the round robin trip. We caught the ferry from Dartmouth to Kingswear, then the steam train to Paignton, then onto an open top bus to Totnes, so good it stayed dry for that bit especially, then a boat trip back to Dartmouth. Again we had a last night do, at the local pub, we had a room all to ourselves which was great. Sadly two lovely people, who we had only just met, announced this to be their last rally. Bob and Pat it was lovely to meet you both. You were our neighbours on Harford Bridge and one of the first to welcome us. Thank you. Finally, we both had a great rally, we made some lovely friends and even booked the Lawns at Spalding in July. Thank you all so much. Val and Dave Dobbin |
